Controversial former star Jose Canseco has offered his assistance to Tim Tebow on his quest to go from NFL quarterback to MLB player.
Jose Canseco recently took to Twitter to let Tim Tebow know that he is willing to help Tebow learn the nuances of baseball.
Tim Tebow is trying out a new sport after a failed attempt to remain in the NFL at quarterback. Instead, he has taken up baseball. What was a laughable side story earlier this season is now a legitimate one. Tebow held a baseball tryout at the end of August that resulted in supposedly as many as nine teams with interest in the former Florida quarterback.
Tebow settled on the New York Mets and signed a deal, and is expected to play some winter ball this offseason. While it is still very doubtful Tebow plays ball above the minor league level, it is worth noting Tebow has proven his critics wrong already by landing a legitimate minor league deal.

Since then numerous sports personalities and celebrates have weighed in on Tebow’s potential and career attempt in MLB. Jose Canseco is the latest to weigh in on Tebow’s foray into baseball, letting him know he is a fan and offering him advice and help.
If Tim Tebow had a polar opposite to his squeaky clean postgames and Bible-toting sincerity, it would be Jose Canseco. Canseco stayed in trouble off the field during his entire career, getting arrested and appearing in court what felt like at times a monthly basis.
To add to his reputation, Canseco has openly embraced steroids and admitted to cheating and has become known as a face of the steroid era.
With the fascination that Tim Tebow already has with the media, the last thing he needs is to be tied to the troubled Canseco. No doubt Tebow’s every step and at-bat in the minor leagues will be covered, even more so if he begins to take advice from players like Canseco.

Not to say that he will not respond to Canseco with respect and maybe even take advice from the former MLB player, because like it or not that is just the type of person and athlete that Tim Tebow is.
