New York Mets: Noah Syndergaard makes a fiery Game of Thrones appearance
New York Mets flamethrower Noah Syndergaard faced off against a new opponent Sunday: a dragon. The young righty made a cameo appearance as a soldier in the latest episode of Game of Thrones episode.
Back in March, it was announced that Noah Syndergaard of the New York Mets would have an appearance on HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones. Beware, the following could spoil some of the story depending on how up-to-date you are.
Game of Thrones airs every Sunday night at 9:00 EST and on this past week’s episode, flame throwing Mets ace, Noah Syndergaard, played with a different kind of fireball. Syndergaard was casted as a Lannister soldier during a battle. The Lannister army was attempting to protect their wagons and supplies from an attack led by Daenerys Targaryen and one of her fire-breathing dragons.

And of course, Thor’s role in his short-lived Game of Thrones acting career involved throwing. He made a split-second appearance where he threw a spear and killed a member of the opposing Dothraki army who was mounted on a horse.
It was unknown what Syndergaard’s role following the announcement that he would be on Game of Thrones but his cameo was likely larger than expected. Surely, Mets fans were happy to see him on another big stage and it seemed as though Syndergaard enjoyed the experience.

On most Sunday nights you can find Syndergaard on the mound for the New York Mets throwing fastballs that resemble fireballs. This past Sunday, he got to face a fireball from a giant dragon and the Mets ace even got to show off the throwing arm. Maybe Game of Thrones will continue to borrow MLB’s superstars as the show nears conclusion.
