Atlanta Braves

We should all expect the Atlanta Braves to become one of those teams that go from zero to sixty next season. They have the money and the prospects to make just about anything happen.

One hole Atlanta might want to fill aside from the starting rotation is at third base. Adonis Garcia received the majority of starts at the hot corner for them last year with very poor results. Johan Camargo is probably the favorite to play on Opening Day next year unless of course the Braves go out and do something crazy like trade for Castellanos.

If Atlanta was willing to play Freddie Freeman at third base I’m not sure they would frown at the idea of Castellanos there every day. Since Castellanos can also play the outfield now, we would probably see him suit up in the corner outfield spots whenever Matt Kemp or Nick Markakis need a day off.

Castellanos would bring youthful experience to the Braves. Castellanos is in the same age/experience range as Freeman, Ender Inciarte, and Julio Teheran. With a few other pieces in place, Atlanta may begin to build a very reputable roster to attract the free agent class of 2018-2019 to their city.

A trade for Castellanos also opens up the possibility of the Braves adding other Tigers players. Should the Tigers decide to trade Michael Fulmer, they could have an opening.
