MLB trade rumors are buzzing that Miami Marlins star catcher J.T. Realmuto wants out of South Beach and he wants out now.

It’s quite sad watching the Miami Marlins in all out “fire sale” mode, trading away a roster full of young talent and franchise players. Starting with the likes of Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and most recently Christian Yelich, it’s only a matter of time before their rising star J.T. Realmuto is next on the list — with MLB trade rumors buzzing like crazy.

That time may be now, with Realmuto wanting out of South Beach and wanting out yesterday. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Realmuto is demanding a trade before the start of Spring training — and who can blame him? The words of Derek Jeter, upon Stanton’s departure, have apparently had a lasting impact on Realmuto.

"Jeter: “Understand, you don’t want to have someone that does not want to be part of the organization.”"

The same rings true of Realmuto, who is the last man standing of young talent with the Miami Marlins. He is one of the best catchers of the game, who still is just tapping into his unlimited potential. The lifetime .280 hitter belted a career-high 17 home runs in 2017 and within the right lineup in 2018, could take that next step into the elite class of MLB catchers.

His defense is even more impressive, with a .994 fielding percentage — fifth in the National League among catchers. He’s also known to steal a bag or two, with an efficient 8-10 success rate swiping bases last season.

12 MLB teams are apparently in contention for the youngster, with the Washington Nationals as the heavy favorite, thus far. These MLB trade rumors are just another reminder of what the Miami Marlins could have been. Now, it will take them years to recover from this mess.

Honestly, they may never be in real contention for a World Series title ever again. Derek Jeter seems to be over his head, but time will tell if he’s the right fit in sunny South Beach.

For now, MLB trade rumors are buzzing, with J.T. Realmuto undoubtedly on the move in the next few weeks, where he’ll likely be donning the attire of the Miami Marlins’ in-division rivals — the Washington Nationals in 2018.
