After pulling off a respectable series win in Toronto, the Texas Rangers headed to Cleveland hoping to win another, however, it did not happen. What happened was the opposite.

The Texas Rangers are now sitting with a 12-20 record and buried eight games behind first place in the American League West. The Rangers are burying themselves deeper and deeper. If they don’t turn things around soon, they’ll be buried.

The Rangers are now heading home and they’ll begin a series today against the Boston Red Sox. Only one month of baseball is in the books, but there’s no more time to waste. The Rangers need to get it together immediately.

The Rangers did manage to avoid getting swept though it was possible as the Rangers’ blew a 6-2 ninth-inning lead in game two by giving up a game-tying grand slam, though the Rangers miraculously found a way to win the game. Despite the little positive outcome, it isn’t enough to turn things around.

More from Texas Rangers

The Rangers are in for a major challenge as they’re 22-8 and first in the league in hits and second in runs scored. What’s bad for the Rangers is that their pitching leads the league in hits allowed. It could be a nightmare of a series only if the Rangers allow it to be.

Mike Minor is taking the mound for the first game of the series. He earned a win in his last start which was in Toronto. In his last start, he had tremendous support from the bats to help seal the deal. Tonight he’s going to need the same in order to give himself and the Rangers another win. In other words, everyone will have to do their job and win as a team.

Team baseball will need to start with Minor tonight and continue for the Rangers for the them to have any sort of chance to rebound from their early season woes.
