Friday high-A Standouts

After being the top pick in the 2016 draft, Mickey Moniak had a rough 2017 season. He’s still working to find his groove with Clearwater, but more days like Friday will definitely help, as Moniak went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a pair of RBI, knocking out a double and drawing a walk as well.

The Inland Empire lineup has been lengthened recently with some promotions of top prospects, but Dustin May made short work of them on Friday for Rancho Cucamonga, going 6 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and no walks, striking out 5.
