New York Yankees

Speaking of a fan base that is going to be a bit cranky this winter, New York Yankees’ fans and the organization come into this off-season seeing the rival Boston Red Sox win another title. That’s not going over well.

The Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees have gotten together on some major trades over the past few seasons. The Cubs dealt Starlin Castro to the Yankees and two years ago the Aroldis Chapman trade helped to put the Cubs over the top and win the World Series.

The Yankees have pitching prospects the Chicago Cubs could desire in a trade for Bryant. They have the payroll flexibility to take on Bryant and maybe someone like Chatwood. They also have Miguel Andujar, and the Rookie of the Year candidate could step right in and play the hot corner.

The Chicago Cubs also wouldn’t have to worry about facing Bryant multiple times a year and in the playoffs until the World Series, which would be of benefit to them in trading this kind of player. They could then take their savings and use it to upgrade their bullpen in what is a deep free agent relief market and still get production out of the hot corner and get additional chips for the farm system.
