MLB news and notes from around baseball, including the updates of a few reported contracts and a recent minor-league signing.

While there are a few big things going on around the league, sometimes little things get missed in the MLB news of the day. This will be a roundup of all those pieces.

Lynn Contract Made Official

Lance Lynn, who had previously been reported to have signed with the Texas Rangers, has been officially announced as a member of the club, the team announced in a press release. The contract will last three-years and will pay Lynn a reported $30 million.

Brantley Officially Joins the ‘Stros

Michael Brantley, another player who’d reportedly signed on with a new team, the Houston Astros, has also officially been named as a member of the team, according to an official press release. The agreement was originally reported by Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic.

Rangers Add Del Pozo

The Texas Rangers have also reportedly signed left-handed pitcher Miguel Del Pozo to a minor-league deal, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. Del Pozo, 26, spent the 2018 season with the Miami Marlins organization, where he appeared in 28 games for their Double-A affiliate.

Kinsler’s Terms Detailed

According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, Ian Kinsler‘s recently reported deal with the San Diego Padres includes a $3.5 million team option for the 2021 season. The deal has not been formally announced by the Padres, though it is expected to become official soon.

Descalso Details Reported

Daniel Descalso, who reportedly signed with the Chicago Cubs Tuesday, has a $3.5 million club option for the 2021 and will earn $1.5 million in 2019 and $2.5 million in 2020. His 2021 option includes a $1 million buyout and he could earn $100,000 in incentives should he reach 500 plate appearances, according to Fancred’s Jon Heyman.

Nats Engaged with Sanchez

The Washington Nationals have had “ongoing conversations” with the representatives of free-agent pitcher Anibal Sanchez, per Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post. Sanchez, 34, pitched to an ERA of 2.83 in 136.2 innings for the Atlanta Braves in 2018.

Brewers Send Reps to Tulo’s Workout

The Milwaukee Brewers were one of the many teams to send representatives to scope out Troy Tulowitzki‘s latest showcase, reports Robert Murray of the Athletic. The Brewers reportedly sent three members of the organization.

Tigers Ink RHP Chris Smith

The Detroit Tigers have inked right-handed pitcher Chris Smith to a minor-league deal with an invite to major-league spring training, the team announced via a press release. Smith, 37, is the definition of a journeyman hurler, having only logged 148.0 frames in parts of 16 professional seasons.

Familia Contract Incentives Reported

According to the Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, Jeurys Familia, who re-signed with the New York Mets this past week, will earn a $1 million bonus if traded and can earn $500,000 in incentives should he reach fifty games finished.
