Detroit Tigers: Jordy Mercer may have found Bigfoot
Few mythical creatures capture the imagination quite like Bigfoot. As it turns out, Detroit Tigers infielder Jordy Mercer may have actually found it.
There is an odd fascination with the concept of Bigfoot amongst major league players. Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is a noted Bigfoot-ologist (that’s actually a thing). Former star and Twitter crackpot Jose Canseco has promised a meeting with Bigfoot. And a space alien. And that he knows the secrets to time travel. But he’s possibly off his rocker, as that baseball must have hit his head much harder than we thought.
Then there is Detroit Tigers infielder Jordy Mercer. Mercer was simply minding his own business, looking at footage from his deer camera. Instead of deer, he found an interesting figure that passed by on consecutive days.
Based on the footage, it seems that some sort of ape-like figure strolled casually by that camera. And, considering the time of the footage, this being has some sort of schedule, as the figure went by within an hour of its appearance the previous day.

But…what is it? Did Mercer actually catch real footage of the mysterious Bigfoot, allowing it to be seen without the usual grainy video? Did Ozzie Canseco get lost when meeting his brother and friends? Is this just an elaborate prank? Or are the Astros on the prowl for new cameras to point towards home plate?
Usually, desolate woodlands are considered to be amongst the prime hunting grounds for the elusive Sasquatch. Those Bigfoot enthusiasts camp out with the hope that maybe, just maybe, it will wander into their site. Now, if Mercer’s footage is to be believed, Oklahoma could be a prime hunting ground.
Eventually, the truth will come out as to what wandered through Mercer’s ranch. There will be some explanation that does not involve Bigfoot at all, as it will be a friend playing a prank or some sort of creature randomly walking as a biped. Or maybe it will really be Ozzie Canseco getting lost on his way to wherever Jose is holed up.
For now, it is fun to speculate that Bigfoot is hanging out in Oklahoma and visiting Detroit Tigers infielder Jordy Mercer at his ranch. After all, stranger things have happened.
