It’s about time to see former Yankees Jose Canseco and Alex Rodriguez go a few rounds… in the ring.

For Jose Canseco, nothing would be more satisfying than meeting Alex Rodriguez face to face in a no-holds-barred fisticuffs. For Rodriguez, nothing would be more satisfying than Canseco forgetting who he was.

The two former baseball players will always be connected for the performance-enhancing drugs they used while in the major leagues. Canseco admitted as much, A-Rod did not. Canseco called out Rodriguez in his book, “Vindicated”, well before the latter actually tested positive for two types of anabolic steroids.

The relationship which was once of mutual respect when they were both playing in the late 90s, has soured to the point of becoming a one-sided feud.

Where Rodriguez continues to shine as a baseball commentator, advisor to President Trump, doting fiancee of Jennifer Lopez, Canseco continues to throw barbs his way.

If Canseco is not accusing Rodriguez of cheating on J-Lo with his very own ex-wife, he is reaching out to schedule a boxing match, a fracas in an MMA octagon, or the latest, a bare-knuckle fight.

Face it A-Rod, there is probably only one way to rid this man from your life, and that is to acknowledge him and take him up on his wishes.

I’m guessing Canseco can still pack some punch, though at 55 years of age has slowed a little. Rodriguez who is ten years younger has been working out at potentially giving a return to professional baseball a whirl.

For a guy who publicly stated it is the responsibility of fortunate athletes to give back during this time of need, Rodriguez should schedule a bout with Canseco with all proceeds going to COVID-19 relief.

There is only one way to deal with a bully and that is to pop him in the mouth. Jose Canseco and Alex Rodriguez schedule this fight and be done with it. Though, for A-Rod’s sake, I hope his pretty little face doesn’t get messed up too much.
