Chicago Cubs

Chicago Cubs fans made it clear that they want Carlos Correa to come to town – they even sang about it.

The Cubs are one of the more interesting teams in the NL Central. They had sold off everyone that had been an impending free agent at the trade deadline, but are determined to reload for the upcoming season. Those plans have already begun to come to fruition, as they have added to their rotation and plan on adding more arms.

However, the lineup could use some help as well, particularly in the middle of the infield. Neither Nico Hoerner nor Nick Madrigal are proven commodities at this point. If the Cubs are serious about contending in 2022, and beyond, adding Correa would certainly help.

The biggest issue may be the length of the contract. The Cubs reportedly do not want to give him a ten year deal as he has been seeking. Considering that Correa rejected that ten year contract from the Tigers, he may not be willing to accept less.
