New York Yankees — They finish below .500 and in fourth-place

The New York Yankees won’t be a very good baseball team. Brian Cashman is over the hill and Aaron Boone wasn’t a very good manager in the first place.

Those two coupled with an injury-riddled team and a team that (arguably) got worse after their moves this offseason do not bode well for the Yankees.

It will be “The Bronx is Burning” in real life as it will be a dumpster fire for Yankees fans in 2022.

Tampa Bay Rays — They miss the playoffs

The Tampa Bay Rays always find a way to get into the playoffs but trading outfielder Austin Meadows to Detroit for one prospect and one draft pick isn’t going to help this year.

Their rotation has had a lot of injuries in recent years and is largely unproven too, which is why I expect a regression. They will finish ahead of the Yankees but will miss the playoffs.

Toronto Blue Jays — They win the division by 5+ games

The Toronto Blue Jays should be the class of the AL and if they aren’t the class of the AL, they will definitely be the class of the AL East.

Sure, they lost Robbie Ray and Marcus Semien but the additions of Kevin Gausman and Matt Chapman will help a lot. They also made a few other moves and with playing their entire home slate in Toronto will really help them (and hurt the AL East teams, in particular). That’s why they will run away with the East.
