Chicago White Sox looking for results soon
While Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa may not be looking at results, everyone else is. That includes the White Sox front office.
Needless to say, the White Sox have been a complete disappointment. According to Bob Nightengale, that prompted team president Ken Williams to address players and coaches on Friday, reminding them of their talent and that it was time to make a run happen.
Chicago White Sox know they are running out of time
Williams was aware that the fault is not due to any one area. The players and staff were all noted as needing to step up if the White Sox were going to come out of their malaise. It did work briefly, as the White Sox won their games on Saturday and Sunday before coming up short against the Guardians on Monday.
Maybe having Williams come down and light into the team and coaches will be the spark they need. It did work for a couple of days at least. There is still time for the White Sox to get back into the playoff picture and catch the Twins and Guardians.
But they need to start stringing victories together. The problem is that they have not been able to do that since a six game winning streak back at the beginning of May. Questionable decisions, a lackluster approach, and a complete inattention to details have caused the White Sox to remain consistent in their inconsistency.
Something has to give. Either the White Sox will start winning or changes will be made. The question is where the axe will fall if the losses continue. As Williams noted, every aspect of the team, from the players to the staff, has had a hand in this disappointing start to the season.
The Chicago White Sox are looking for results and they need to come soon. Otherwise, there could be plenty of changes in the coming weeks.
