As September winds down and October is lurking on the horizon, the thoughts of all Major League Baseball fans turn to the MLB playoffs and which team will take home the World Series trophy.

When do the MLB playoffs start?

The National League and American League Wild Card best-of-three rounds (featuring the third through sixth seeds in each league) are slated to begin on Friday, October 7.
