Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles have said that their rebuild is over and that they are ready to begin spending. Adding Carlos Correa would emphatically show that they are serious.

Correa had been linked to the Orioles in the past as they were considered a possible landing spot during the 2021-22 offseason. The Orioles appeared to be on the cusp of contending with the young talent on the verge of reaching the majors, making a player with Correa’s track record the perfect piece to build around.

That is still the case now. Although Gunnar Henderson had been considered the Orioles’ shortstop of the future, he could simply transition over to second. Jorge Mateo may be the incumbent at short, but he is best suited as a utility option and would not stand in Correa’s way.

Adding Correa still makes sense now. The Orioles have a potentially dangerous lineup with Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Ryan Mountcastle, Cedric Mullins, and Austin Hays. Correa would be another impact bat in the middle of the order, making the young Orioles that much more formidable as they look to return to the postseason.

Carlos Correa would not be the only piece that the Baltimore Orioles need. He would be a perfect start while proving that the Orioles mean business.
