San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants have indicated that they are shooting for the moon this offseason, looking to bring in Aaron Judge and a top shortstop.

With an eye to the latter, the Giants have already been linked to a pair of the top shortstops that could potentially reach free agency. Trea Turner has been listed as a potential top target at short while Xander Bogaerts was listed as a possibility previously. It is obvious that the Giants have big plans for the position.

It makes sense that they would eye Carlos Correa as well. Although he would not be as dynamic a player as Turner, he does have more pop and is better defensively. He is also better with the glove than Bogaerts while providing the same type of offensive production.

Ultimately, it will be a matter of cost. The Giants are not going to be the only team eyeing Correa on the open market. They would also have plenty of competition for Bogaerts and Turner as well. However, if they are going to return to the postseason in 2023, they will need to dramatically improve what was a disappointing lineup.
