With rain postponing Game 3 of the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros on Monday night, some decisions surrounding Thursday night’s potential viewing just became much tougher for those sports fans in the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia sports fans will have to choose between the Phillies in World Series Game 5 or the undefeated Eagles on Thursday night

As we reported last week, the scheduling gods gave both Philadelphia and Houston sports fans a gift, with the Astros and Phillies meeting in the World Series this week and the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Houston Texans on NFL’s Thursday Night Football.

The Eagles-Texans game was scheduled for Thursday night, originally an off night for the World Series. However, with Monday’s postponement, the World Series schedule has now shifted, with games in Philadelphia scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday … and Thursday night.

So Phillies fans will have a decision to make: Do they pay attention to the undefeated Eagles playing on the road in Houston or focus on the Phillies in their first World Series since 2009? How much would that change if, in a perfect Phillies world, Philadelphia won Games 3 and 4 of the World Series and entered Game 5 with a chance to win the title?

Of course, Houston fans have the same decision as well. However, with the Texans at 1-5-1 coming into Thursday Night Football, it may not be as difficult of a choice as Philadelphia sports fans will face. That record, by the way, is one of the reasons why the Eagles were already a 13.0-point favorite when Game 3 of the Fall Classic was postponed on Halloween.

Game 5 of the World Series is set to begin at 8:03 p.m. (Eastern) while the Eagles-Texans game will kick off roughly 12 minutes later.
