#1 – Brent Rooker

With the way this season has gone for the Oakland A’s and their fans, Brent Rooker has been a huge bright spot and someone that could be a big trade piece if the A’s want to help their rebuild.

Rooker so far this season is hitting .295 with 11 home runs and 30 runs batted in. By far his best season in the big leagues, Rooker leads his team in average, home runs, runs batted in, on base, slugging, and OPS. It is safe to say that even with the bad attendance and the announcement that the team is moving to Las Vegas, the 28-year-old continues to mash.

The actual hitting numbers may seem the same if not worse than some of the other players on this list, but the Athletics have a 10-35 record with nothing going for them, so Brent Rooker is a good player for number one on the list.

This guy could also be one of the top players on the trade market come the trade deadline. There are plenty of teams who could use a power-hitting outfielder who can also hit for average and has a plus arm. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
