According to Dejan Kovacevic of The Pittsburgh Post Gazette the Pittsburgh Pirates have released utility man Ramon Vasquez. Vazquez, signed with the Pirates back in December of 2008 after hitting .290/.365/.430 with Rangers the previous Season.

Last year, was a disappointing year for Vazquez in Pittsburgh as he struggled for most of the year hitting .230/.335/.279 while seeing time at most of the infield positions. The Pirates still owe Vazquez $2MM for the 2010 season.

Vazquez, 33, should be able to find a spot with another team, as he provides a lot of versatility for a team on the bench.  His new team will be team number 7 for him in his 9 year career.
