Matt Kemp

It seems like decades ago that Kemp was the runner-up in the National League MVP voting; however that was in 2011 and the Dodgers rewarded him with an 8-year, $160 million contract.  Since then Kemp has played in 179 games including 73 in 2013.  The outfielder was practically a non-factor for the playoff run of the Dodgers this past season and his name has appeared in trade rumors often this winter.

Six years is a long time and it appears the injury bug has officially bitten Kemp and with the other talent on the Dodgers, the team from L.A. would love to get rid of the financial baggage that Kemp possesses.  Kemp has all the talent in the world and if he stays healthy he could still be one of the top players in the league, after all he’s still only 29 years old.  Whether it’s the Dodgers or another team one thing is for sure, a big contract that is hard to live up to will be joining Kemp in the trade and many teams won’t be willing to take that gamble.
