Oakland Athletics – CF Billy Burns

The 24-year old native of Georgia is a non-roster invitee, but you wouldn’t know it by the way he has played this spring.  Burns has hit .321 and though he’s shown no power his speed has been the most noteworthy.  He has seven stolen bases in 10 games and while not everyone thinks speed is reason enough to make a roster (i.e. Billy Hamilton of the Reds), it can’t be denied that talented bag-swipers are at a premium in today’s game.
