MLB Projections: Top 10 Third Basemen Heading into 2020
#9- Yoan Moncada, Chicago White Sox
Moncada made some of the biggest improvements of all players last season. He really transitioned into a productive bat.
In 2018, he led the league in strikeouts. He still struck out 154 times in 2019, but it was a major improvement from the previous season.
Through 132 games, Moncada hit 25 home runs and drove in 79 runs. He hit .315 and had an OPS. over 900.
If his power continues to develop and he continues to limit the strikeouts, he is going to continue to rise on this list.
Moncada and the White sox are looking to make the postseason for the first time in a while.
#8- Kris Bryant– Chicago Cubs

Many might make the argument that Kris Bryant is too low on this list. However, this position is beyond competitive and he has proven to have inconsistencies in his game.
He might be on the move, as the Cubs are looking for a change in personnel.
His defense has regressed but has returned.
The Former 2016 NL MVP had a tremendous 2019 campaign, even though the Cubs missed the playoffs. Bryant, who was an All-Star in 2019, hit 31 home runs, drove in 77 runs and had an OPS. over 900 through 147 games.
He is still a major threat in the middle of the Cubs’ order and is looking to have a few more seasons like 2019, so he can maximize his value before his inevitable free agency.
#7- Eugenio Suarez– Cincinnati Reds
Eugenio Suarez is one of the most overlook and underrated players in the National League. The only player to hit more home runs than him last season was Home Run King Pete Alonso, who slugged 53 in his rookie season.
In his age-27 season, Suarez hit 49 home runs, drove in 103 runs and had an OPS> of .930 through 159 games.
Many think that his numbers are skewed because of how much of a hitters’ park Cincinnati’s stadium is, but more than half of his home runs came on the road.
His power is tremendous. That is not up for argument. However, struck out the most in the NL last season, whiffing 189 times.
