Chicago Cubs — They are close to .500

The core of the Chicago Cubs is not very good right now but they made a lot of stopgap, depth signings, especially in the bullpen and on the bench.

Those signings and the weakness of the next two teams should help them be better than they were in 2021, when they lost 91 games.

Cincinnati Reds — They trade Luis Castillo and Tyler Mahle before the trade deadline

The Cincinnati Reds finished over .500 in each of the last two seasons but they dismantled their team. En route to an awful season (probably 95+ losses), they need to get some prospects that are close to major league ready so they can be a contender again in 2-3 years.

There will be a slew of teams interested in Luis Castillo and nearly as many in Tyler Mahle so the Reds will do the right thing and trade them to a contender.

Milwaukee Brewers — They win the Central by 10+ games

The Milwaukee Brewers, arguably, have the best pitching staff in baseball. They will be phenomenal, as they have been in recent years.

However, the offense will step up. Andrew McCutchen and Hunter Renfroe will be good additions and Christian Yelich will be much better too. He may not hit like an MVP but he will be much better.

That means that the Brewers will run away with the NL Central.
